  • ♾️ This only needs to be performed once, to work forever.

Steps

  • 🪟 If Windows needs to be kept accessible, disable encryption on it.

  • 📤 Update the UEFI or BIOS. It often causes errors.

  • 🔁 Then reboot the computer while pressing quickly and repately the setup key to access the UEFI or BIOS menu.

UEFI/BIOS settings

🔴 Disable:

  • Secure boot.
  • Network boot.

🟢 Enable:

  • Boot from USB.
  • Boot menu.

↔️ Set:

  • Boot mode as UEFI only.
  • Boot order so the first device is the USB, and the second one is the internal storage. And nothing else.

✅ Check:

  • That after powering on the computer without the USB connected, on the next power on the computer is able to boot from USB. Either by booting straight into the USB, or by using the boot key.

Return the computer

Once finished, let the user perform the OS installation themselves.
