From Windows

If the computer still has Windows, just look for the latest upgrade for its UEFI or BIOS in the manufacturer website, and install it.

From the UEFI or BIOS menu

  • ⌨️ When booting the computer, press quickly and repeately the setup key to launch the UEFI or BIOS menu.

  • 📤 See if there is any update option. If there is proceed below, if not jump to the next section.

  • 🌐 Go to the manufacturer’s website, download the updated UEFI or BIOS, and copy it into the Zenned USB.

  • 📤 With the USB connected, go back to the UEFI or BIOS menu option to update.

  • 🚮 Delete the update program from the USB.

From Hiren’s BootCD

  • 🔓 Unlock boot, postponing the step of upgrading the UEFI or BIOS till the end.

  • 🌐 Go to the manufacturer’s website, download the updated UEFI or BIOS update program, and copy it into the Zenned USB.

  • 💿 Copy Hiren’s BootCD into the Zenned USB.

  • ⌨️ Reboot the computer while pressing quickly and repeately the boot key. A boot menu shall appear, where you shall select to boot from USB. Then from Hiren’s BootCD.

  • 📤 When you reach a desktop, look in the USB drive for the update program and run it.

  • 🔓 Unlock boot again.

  • 🚮 Delete Hiren’s BootCD and the update program from the USB.
